It has been agreed by Netflix, the well-known streaming service, to postpone the premiere of its documentary series on Indrani Mukerjea, the main suspect in the Sheena Bora murder case, until February 29, 2024. The Bombay High Court's request for Netflix to set up a special screening of the series for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is investigating the case, led to the ruling.
The high court was approached by the CBI in an attempt to halt the broadcast of the documentary series "The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth," which was slated to premiere on February 23, 2024. The CBI had maintained that the show might sway the witnesses and taint the current trial.

After hearing the argument, a division bench of Justices Revati Mohite-Dere and Manjusha Deshpande questioned Netflix about why it was unable to share the series with the CBI. In addition to the accused's rights, the bench noted that the victim's and the prosecution's rights should be taken into account.
At first, senior attorney Ravi Kadam, speaking on behalf of Netflix, objected to the screening, claiming that it would be pre-censorship and that the CBI ought to have filed a lawsuit sooner. He said that the court was free to watch the series if it so desired.
The bench, however, stated that the trial was still ongoing and that witness testimonies were still being taken. "We can postpone the series' publication by one week."Heavens will not collapse," the bench said.
Kadam then consented to hold off on the series' publication until after the subsequent hearing and volunteered to set up a screening for the attorneys and CBI representatives.
The bench ordered Netflix to schedule the screening before February 29, 2024, and postponed the case until then.
